I had the pleasure of photographing sweet Braxtons birth a couple of weeks ago. His mother did AWESOME! In fact, I almost didnt make it to the birth because she delivered in less than an hour and a half! I am always so blessed to be a part of births. They are so unique and intimate and I am beyond honored to have clients hire me to capture those first sweet moments before and after their sweet babies are born!

Births are intense as a photographer because the lighting is really tricky. Using flash blows out the detail and most delivery rooms are very dark. Shooting with available light is great but you have to really balance the light during different situations because at any time the doctor pulls out different lights for various situations. I really love photographing births because my adrenaline gets to pumping and there is never a dull birth moment! For a moment I have to separate myself as a woman/mother and be professional/photographer rather than emotional and excited!
