Annah and Ryan {Engaged}

Taylor Tuesday is actually happening today! After a few weeks off, I am returning with some beautiful new faces and pictures!

Meet Annah and Ryan! They are getting married next year at the Harn Homestead and I am really excited about their vintage wedding. They have spent a lot of time already planning their wedding to have some unique touches. Since we are entering the throes of fall, which means crazy and unpredictable weather, we did have to reschedule their shoot due to wind. I know it seems crazy, but there is nothing worse than fighting with your long hair, while trying to be cute and smile for the camera. All in all, it was a good choice, because we had perfect weather for their session last week!

Thanks Annah and Ryan for being so flexible!

Cache + Erika {Grand Lake rainy day wedding}

It sometimes rains on your wedding day. I said it. Whew.

We do not want to consider it or talk about it because we all have this dream that includes sun and perfection for the big day. Myself included, I mean we tell our brides all of the time that outdoor Oklahoma weddings are our absolute favorite thing. The lighting is great, you do not have ceremony restrictions like a lot of churches do, and there is just something awesome about hearing birds chirp or the wind against your skin that makes you feel truly present on the biggest day of your life. We preach to our clients about outdoor weddings for many reasons and will continue to do so. There is always a chance of rain (or wind or tornadoes having a wedding in Oklahoma…) and we think the pros out weigh the cons and that outdoor weddings are still our favorite ;)

I say this with all of the love in the world for Cache and Erika (Seriously, we adore you two) but this was a difficult wedding to photograph. My husband held an umbrella over my head so we could stand in the rain and shoot beautiful portraits of the couple while they stayed dry. I literally looked like a soaked puppy dog the entire day. It was muddy and slippery and hard to get around for ceremony pics. I completely ruined a new pair of work shoes. I only mention these things because I want you to know that it was TOTALLY worth it. Did you read that?
Completely and totally WORTH IT people…

Because the day was about Cache and Erika and making it go as perfectly as possible, despite the circumstances of the pouring down rain. To celebrate the love and wonderfulness that they have found in each other and have a really fun memory doing it. You better believe that the guests will not forget their wedding…. not because of how gorgeous the vendors made it (because WOW they totally made it incredibly beautiful)…. or how Erika’s family owns Head Country Barbeque and the food was unbelievably AMAZING… but because it was different and unique and personal to Erika and Cache! Erika’s ceremony images are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. They are unique and vibrant and like no one else’s wedding images… and I adore them. They could have moved the ceremony in the reception barn at the last minute but the clear umbrellas and the colors are SO beautiful (and real) to me. Erika and Cache, thanks for being brave and bold and continuing to keep your wedding outside because it was your dream to be married on the lake that you know and love. It was SO fun and SO beautiful ;)

{Can you see the rain below? I took a wide shot here to show how hard it was raining, but how you cannot tell by looking at the gorgeous bride and bridesmaids.}

I almost always give a shout out to the wedding vendors because we work as a team on wedding days to make weddings as perfect as can be for our client. THIS team, my friends, deserve a HUGE shout out because of their hard work, and immense talent! Way to make Erika’s wedding dreams come together beautifully!
