I get teary when I even think about this day.
I met Lainey about 5 years ago when she was the manager of Blo. a brand new blow out hair salon at Classen Curve in Oklahoma City. She contacted us and hired us to photograph the new space and help them with some marketing photos. First, if you don’t know me in real life… you should know that I AM NOT FANCY. I am a coach’s wife and spend my time at our kids ball games or on our farm in Goldsby, Oklahoma. So when my photography team showed up to Blo. I felt a little out of my league. I remember thinking Lainey was one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen and Classen Curve was so fancy and I was SO out of place :)
Well, fast forward a few years and Lainey joined my Pursuit group of women small business owners and we have gotten to know each other pretty well and I just ADORE her. I have gotten to watch her adoption process from beginning to end and how she has waited patiently on the Lord throughout the entire process.
She hired me to photograph her sweet baby BEFORE he was officially hers. She said even if it fell thru they would want this window of their lives documented with him. She was nervous but had faith this was the Lords plan for her family and I loved spending the morning photographing her and Grey in their first few days together. I got to pray for her at the end of our session and we both stood in the middle of a field and cried together. I just laughed on the way home about how insecure I was when we first met because Lainey was so pretty and worked at a fancy place and how our paths crossed and now she is a dear friend of mine. Just a reminder to get out of our heads about things! Show up, be real, love people, and the rest happens in the most perfect way.
