Kris + Whitney {The Palace Cancun, Mexico}

It is Wedding Wednesday… and before I go in to detail about Kris and Whitneys rainy day wedding in Mexico you have to understand who they are as individuals. Kris and Whitney have the kind of love that you believe… its the love that you cannot put into words for it to be defined. They just love each other and it feels real to the fullest extent.

We only photograph one destination wedding per year and we believe with our whole hearts that the perfect couple for this spot comes along every single time. We have yet to find a couple that we did not adore after the week of wedding festivities played out. Having clients that love each other and trust us completely are a dream come true and we are so blessed to have found that in Kris and Whitney. Their friends and families were SO fun and invited us (and our kiddos who got to come too!) into their lives and we loved getting to know all of them!

All Whitney wanted was to marry Kris Janzen on a beach without any shoes. We watched the weather before we left for Mexico and it wasnt looking so good- it only looked worse once we got there. When I say that it rained it didnt just rain, it all out poured the first two days of the trip. Whitney was naturally a little disappointed but nothing was going to stop her from marrying the man of her dreams. The weather looked grim at best and everyone kept saying how the wedding day was actually going to be the rainiest day of our trip. We kept taking photos of raindrops on the pool so that it would fully tell their story.

The day of the wedding was cloudy but not raining and we all got out and enjoyed volleyball, the pool and being outside for the first time in two days ;) That afternoon the skies had parted and the sun was shining and it was PERFECT. It gives me chills to think about it again because that is all any of us wanted for Whitney on her wedding day. We couldnt believe how perfect it ended up being! Their ceremony was beautiful and emotional I will never forget that Kris promised to love Whitney and all of her Keds shoes. We laughed and danced way into the night and had a great time celebrating the Janzens!

The “day after” session was the next day and my hubby and I had so much fun getting fun images of Kris and Whitney. It ended up pouring down rain but that didnt stop us from getting beautiful images! You can hardly tell that Kris and Whitney were soaked at all!

Kris and Whitney, we value your friendship and the way you live your lives. We are so glad we were brought together!
