This wedding was such a unique picture of the way the Lord loves people. The story of how this wedding actually came to be is really cool, so if you have a minute take some time to read about it. I hope the Lord uses their story to encourage your heart.

Lauren and Joey have been a part of our LifeGroup at church now for just over a year. They began coming to our LifeGroup shortly after their daughter, Sailor was born and their courthouse wedding. They jumped in immediately and really began to get plugged into our community. Over the next eight or so months we really got to know them well. Lauren shared with us on multiple times that it was her dream to have a “real” wedding on their one year anniversary. But as so often happens, with the everyday duties of life, raising their daughter, finishing school and working, it was very difficult financially and logistically to make it happen. Back in January, a few girls in our LifeGroup got together and decided that if we gathered all of our resources, we could actually make this wedding happen. So we pitched the idea to Lauren and Joey, who were instantly on board. And let the planning begin. We had a total of two months to plan this wedding and Lauren took off running with it.

Family and friends from our church and other churches in the community offered their time, money, services and abilities to the wedding. It turned out amazing and it was so incredible to see the way the families came together with the friends from our LifeGroup to serve this couple. And it was so fun to see the way Lauren and Joey were blessed.

I really believe this is the heart of the God, to be a part of a community that loves Jesus and loves people and honors them for who they are. It was so fun to see everyone offer their God-given gifts back to the Lord in such a unique way.
