FOCUS 2010 {ORLANDO}

I am so grateful for the women in my life. I have so many wonderful friends that I am so blessed to know. In April I flew out to Orlando to meet up with my favorite photographer friends. There are ten of us that make up this little group and we are from all over the United States…. (we missed the other 3 who didnt make it this trip) We met at a photography conference in San Diego back in 2008- we kept up our friendships and have been meeting up about every 6 months. Last year we met up in Dallas (you can read about it HERE) for a week and this year we met in florida. Meaghan’s parents have a winter home-it’s in a small retirement village outside of orlando & we were the only ones there not cruising around town in golf carts!  Have you seen the movie In Her Shoes? It was EXACTLY like that! We talked, laughed uncontrollably, drank wine, slept a little, laughed at our own engagement pictures, learned new tricks, got all fixed up for new headshots, played with lighting, & were introduced to zotz…which make me throw up in my mouth! It is so refreshing to share life with women who love the Lord, are photographers, mothers, wives, friends… etc. They continuously inspire me and I am honored to know them.  A little secret….. I didnt bring my camera. Nope. Didnt bring it. I had been shooting SO much the month of April so I intentionally left it at home. These pics are all theirs…

This is a little excerpt from Caseys blog about our trip….
“I spent from Sunday to Wednesday of this week with a group of 6 girls that completely blow me away. We all met at a photography workshop in 2008 and have been able to get together about once every 6 months or so since. Last year we met up in Dallas, TX and this year we made a trip down to Leesburg, FL. And to be 100% honest, the fact that we stayed in a retirement community (one of the girls parent’s vacation home) and were about an hour away from anything that would be considered cool or fun to do in Florida I wouldn’t have changed the time with them for anything.
Of course we talked business and carried our cameras everywhere and then talked business some more… but the most meaningful times were when we were sitting on the back porch during a torrential downpour just listening to the rain and chatting, or when we were laying on the beach in total silence…just enjoying the moment for all that it was.
I love these girls. They encourage me, they make me laugh, they truly love and care for little ol’ me and make me feel that way, they challenge me, they pray for me, they tell me I’m beautiful (and every girl needs to hear that from time to time) they teach me things like how to cook a good meal, or how to “overpower the sun”, or how to be a better wife… They love the Lord and encourage me to love him more… I could go on…
Thanks girls, for loving me. For making me laugh and encouraging me. But most of all for just being who each of you are. God shines so distinctly through each of you, and He used you all this weekend to stir my heart for Him. I’m so so thankful!” -Casey

Wayyyyy back in 2004 Jace and I lived in Celebration, Florida while Jace was playing professional baseball for the Orlando Rays. The town of Celebration, -a.k.a pleasantville, is SO much fun!  It is owned by Disney and all of the houses are perfect with white porches and green lawns. Most of the vehicles on the road were Segways and the downtown area has a little ice cream shoppe, movie theatre and a few awesome restaurants. So on our way to the airport we stopped in my old neighborhood for a little trip down memory lane & a delish lunch!  It was darling, the sangria was perfect, the salad was amazing, & the company was incomparable…
