We havent blogged a birth in quite some time! Oh my goodness! Honestly we had to take a break last year and didnt get half as much blogged as we wanted to but we have been trying to catch up the last few weeks before the busyness of wedding season takes over!

Do you know what your husbands face looked like when he saw your babies for the first time? Do you remember how you felt? Do you know what I would give for this? Just about anything. Births are intimate, raw, real, emotional, scary and honest. And to be in the room when this beautiful moment takes place is one that we hold in such high regard. Even after photographing around 60 births between the three of us- it is still exhilarating and emotional EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I photographed Kim and Gerrons engagement, bridal, and wedding day back in 2008 (man I am old). I witnessed the tears streaming down Kims face when she sat with Gerron to pray before the ceremony and Gerrons tears when he saw his bride for the first time. I watched Kims dad kiss her on the cheek before she walked down the aisle, and saw it again when he walked into the room to meet his newest grandbaby. These are the moments that I live for folks. The beauty in the stories. Sweet Smith family… the gift of continually documenting your families big moments is such a treasure to me! I love you guys!

Note for clients : We love shooting births… they are so real and beautiful… but difficult at the same time to be on call and have to drop everything you have going to get to the hospital on time. We have decided to only be on call for one birth per month. Luckily there are three of us so it makes it a bit easier to have three people on call when a client goes in to labor but it is still difficult since they can happen at often unplanned times. If you are looking for someone to photograph your birth and we are booked up for the month we have several photographer friends who we can refer you to. We think the moments before, during, and after your children are born are just as important as your wedding day. The truth and emotion are a treasure that every parent deserves to have documented!

Nicole and Robert {Engaged}

Hi! Taylor here… wanting to introduce you to my friends Nicole and Robert. I have known Nicole since she was a sophomore in high school, which was about 7 years ago! Crazy. And I’ve known Robert for about 5 or so years? I am not exactly sure, but it’s been a while. I knew them separately and then watched as they started to date and fall in love. I always enjoyed hearing Nicole talk about Robert and watching from a distance as Robert pursued my sweet friend. I love that they love each other and I enjoy watching them together, because they just love being around each other. I am so honored to be a bridesmaid in their wedding this fall. It really is going to be a beautiful wedding. And since I clearly can’t photograph their wedding, Holli will be doing all the hard work! But I was able to shoot their engagement pictures, which was truly fun, because they just made each other laugh and just had fun being together, nevermind that their friend/photographer was following them :)

Taylor Tuesday….

Meet Shelley and Jeremy! They are getting married this coming Saturday at Gaillardia! I had so much fun shooting their engagement pictures in the fall. They were both so kind and super sweet. It is always fun watching couple interact and seeing how excited they are to be engaged! Can’t wait for this weekend.

Koby and Taylor { Harn Homestead Wedding }

Koby and Taylor were married last weekend! They had their wedding at the rustic Harn Homestead and we have said it before but we love this Oklahoma wedding venue! We especially love when brides choose an outdoor venue for the ceremony- the colors are beautiful, the light is most always great, we do not have to deal with venue restrictions and honestly we just love the feel of it!

Yall… I cant even tell you how laid back and awesome this sweet couple is. From the very beginning when Taylor booked us as her wedding photographers over a year ago she has been the easiest bride to please maybe ever.

Lindsay Gibson and Poppy Lane used their expertise to make Taylors wedding absolutely perfect. And the cupcakes??! I die. But seriously… have you seen anything so amazing? Each and every cupcake had three adorable little works of art on top and the entire thing was edible.

Our job is so fun. It can be stressful too, but after weddings like this one when the talented vendors knock it out of the park, all of the guests have a good time and the bride is unbelievably laid back and awesome- it doesnt get better than this!

First let me say this bride is beautiful! And a complete joy to photograph. I wanted to share this image from her bridals because I just can’t get over the sunlight. It is amazing how a simple outdoor back drop gets transformed by the golden sun near sunset. I love my job! It honestly feels so magical to be out in the middle of nowhere with a stunning bride in a beautiful white gown at sunset! Thanks for trusting me with your dress Amanda!

Matt and Paige {Dallas Wedding Photographers}

Paige and Matt were married a few weeks ago on a beautiful spring day in Dallas. Everything about their day was effortless and fun! Our kind of wedding :)
My favorite thing about Paige is that she smiles with her whole body. Does that make sense? She was ELATED to be marrying Matt and everything in her whole being celebrated that fact. You could see the happiness in her face at every moment of her day and it was so exciting to watch. It has been fun to get to know sweet Paige and her family. Her parents live in Saudi Arabia, Paige was living in New York City, they had a beautiful Dallas wedding and are now about to move to Boston for Matt to attend grad school at Harvard. Congratulations you two!!

Ben and Morgan

Morgan and I go way back to the day when I photographed this young, bright, high school senior. Her mom booked two senior sessions so that we could spend the day doing some urban and nature locations. We spent the entire day together running around okc and norman, eating cheezits, and getting to know each other. She was so fun and intelligent and driven and hilarious. I pretty much adored her from the start. I even blogged that I wanted my daughter to be just like her… that is saying a lot!

Fast forward four years at the University of Oklahoma (just like she had planned) she is all grown up and has grown into a lovely woman of God – whose story is so beautiful. She is now engaged and marrying a lovely man by the name of Ben Habern. Ben, I just adore you. I could not have handpicked someone as caring, fun and lovable for sweet Morgan than you my friend! Thanks for loving her so well ;)

Morgan and Ben, yall are awesome. I am so excited for what your future holds and for us to be old married friends!!
