Taylor Tuesday….

I’m really excited to be posting these bridals of Megan. We took these way back in the fall and I couldn’t show them until after her wedding in January and then I just forgot and had so many other things to blog, that I am finally getting around to it. But I just LOVED her dress and the light and everything about her bridals. She was so easy going and smiley. It was just a fun night. Instead of her mom, she brought her future sister-in-law and maid of honor (slash make-up artist and best friend). And they had a great time the whole night. It was fun to see how laid back Megan was. It is interesting because so often moms come along to bridals, but it is a totally different dynamic when the bride brings a friend. It’s different for every bride, but if your mom tends to stress you out or be overly worried about your dress getting a little bit dirty, you may consider bringing a bridesmaid instead.

It is a difficult job trying to find outdoor bridal locations that are pretty even in the dead of winter but we found the perfect place with our favorite kind of trees! Allison, you were a stunning bride!

{As much as I would love to share where this location is, it is a private residence}

Good morning friends! I have a lovely “after” session for you today! Unfortunately, Elizabeth didnt choose to have an “after” session it just sort of- well- happened. She had a wedding dress mishap. Her dress was ruined in alterations and she had to buy another dress weeks before her ceremony. We had a bridal session on the schedule but we had to reschedule because of her dress situation. I will say, I LOVED the new dress… so she did find something that was so perfectly her.

It got us thinking that it would be a great idea for more couples to do “after” sessions instead of their bridal sessions. Now dont get me wrong… we LOVE bridal sessions, in fact, it could be one of my favorite sessions to shoot. But how fun is it to be able to go to cool locations with cool light WITH your new spouse for really awesome photos? You arent on a time crunch, worried about the bottom of your dress getting dirty, limited to the ceremony locations, or stressed out from it being your wedding day! We think it is such a good idea ESPECIALLY for clients who choose not to meet before the ceremony. This past year only 4 of my wedding couples chose not to meet before the ceremony. We are glad that it is gaining in popularity because we believe it makes your images dramatically better (but… we still value your decision and let our clients choose for themselves) Ultimately, we just want your couples photos to be AMAZING ;) Just some thoughts for your morning!

Elizabeth let me choose the locations (you have seen them time and again) but they are my favorites. It cannot be overstated- my undying love for fields with beautiful light! The first image here is out of focus- but something about it- is just perfect.

Taylor Tuesday….

BRIDALS!!!! WE love ‘em. It is such a shame I am just now getting around to blogging this amazing bride! We had a blast at her bridals, because she was such an amazing model and had a perfect smile. And this was the night she informed me that she would have an amazing cookie bar at her wedding. A cookie bar… yes, with Eileen’s famous, amazing, delicious cookies. And yes, they were amazing.

Taylor Tuesday…. still playing catch up!

I had the pleasure of photographing my sweet friend’s bridals last fall. Her wedding was in November and she needed bridals taken before her big day. Of course I fit her into my schedule, who can say no, to a beautiful bride in a big white dress? Well I can’t. And her dress certainly wasn’t big, but it was perfect and she looked amazing. It is always a blast catching up with a friend you haven’t seen in a while and we had plenty to talk about with her wedding being just on the horizon. We traipsed through fields, sat in grass and pulled over on the side of the road… all for beautiful pictures. I love my job! Ashley, you were a gorgeous bride and I loved taking your bridal portraits. I hope you and Colin are enjoying married life, let’s grab dinner soon.
