What is required to book my date?
We require a deposit of half of the package you are choosing to book HolliB for your wedding and secure your wedding date. The deposit is used towards your balance and is non refundable. The final 50% is due three weeks prior to your wedding day. We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
Do we get a High Res Dvd of images from our wedding?
Yes, a high resolution dvd of your wedding images is included in every package. We think you should own your own images. Someday you will probably move, your photographer could move and it might be difficult to place an order. However we do recommend printing them from Pictage because they do the best printing quality. Our monitors are calibrated to Pictage printers and they print exactly what we see on our computers when we are editing. There is a major difference.
Do you have a studio?
We have a home studio that we shoot a few sessions in, and work out of daily. We also share an office with Abbey Road Catering and AmyCakes cake design where we meet clients for consultations in Norman. Since we specialize in weddings we are at a different venue every weekend and do not need a typical studio to shoot out of.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use top of line Nikon bodies and lenses that would make you sick if you knew how much they cost :)
How do you feel about meeting before the ceremony?
About 70% of our brides meet prior to the ceremony. It is a personal decision that is different for each and every bride and we do not require our brides to do so. However our opinion is that meeting before the ceremony gives you special time just between the two of you, frees you to go to your reception at the same time as your guests, and we feel that it makes your images dramatically better.
Do you offer albums?
Yes. We are very proud of our custom designed wedding albums. The only thing my parents have from their wedding is their wedding album. In 20 years you will probably not be able to use your high res dvd (since technology upgrades so quickly) so we highly recommend purchasing an album. We have a graphic designer on staff (Taylor) and she does all of our design work. Taylor will work with you directly to design your wedding album and you get to make changes to it until it is perfect. We also offer payment plans so that you can pay them off over the course of a year. We offer a variety of different album sizes, style, colors and formats to choose from. You have to see and feel them in person to appreciate them!
How far in advance are you booked?
May and June weddings are usually booked out over a year in advance- other dates vary. We HIGHLY recommend booking your wedding date as soon as possible because we do not hold dates until a deposit has been paid.
What locations do you shoot at?
We literally could not list all of the locations we shoot at. All of our sessions are on location and outside. We see light, texture and color very differently and do our best to find new and fun locations.
Are we hiring? Can we assist you at a wedding? Do you offer mentor sessions?
Right now we are not hiring. We put it on the blog when we are looking for interns or assistants throughout the year. We do not bring non HolliB assistants to weddings. Weddings are such high paced and important events and we do not have time to train at weddings. Yes, we do offer mentor sessions and you can email us for our rates and info.
How many weddings do you book per year?
In the past we made the mistake of photographing 43 weddings in one year. We will not do that again! To give our clients the best attention we like to keep it right at 30 and will book no more than that in one year. We also only do one wedding per day.
Do you photograph destination weddings?
Yes! Have cameras…. will travel. Destination weddings are fun and unique- contact us directly for destination pricing info and to see previous destination wedding slideshows we have photographed.
Do you have vendors that you recommend?
Yes, and we have a vendor guide we give to all of our brides of people/businesses whose work we highly recommend. We are full of wedding related info and we like to share it!
Do you bring backup equipment?
Of course! We bring a ridiculous amount of gear to all weddings. We bring three camera bodies, five flashes, and more lenses than you can count on two hands.
What is your typical turnaround time?
We tell brides 20 business days to have everything finished- (all images edited, uploaded to Pictage and dvds delivered to you.) We are very proud of our turnaround time and believe it is one of the quickest around. We will have your sneak peek slideshow online within two weeks of your wedding.
What is your cancellation policy?
It is easy to think that this doesnt happen but we normally have one cancellation per year. We would take photographs for free if we did not have to feed our children and pay for soccer cleats every fifth day. But we do. Our business is our full time jobs so your deposit is non-refundable.
Do you have liabiility insurance?
Absolutely. We have coverage through a comprehensive insurance carrier, endorsed by Professional Photographers of America.
Will you visit my location before the wedding?
If your location is in Norman or OKC we have probably shot there several times before. However we always arrive 20 minutes or so early so we can scout out sweet light and cool places to take your photos.
Do you shoot alone?
The first three years in business I shot completely alone but now I have found that I like to have someone shooting with me to shoot things in a different perspective and assist me with various responsibilities. Some packages are for one photographer- and some include a second photographer, which is my husband (or Taylor who has shot with us for almost two years). We always offer the option to just have just one of us present, however, most of our clients desire to have the advantage of a husband and wife shooting team.
