Greg + Megan {Destination Wedding} { belize wedding photography , belize wedding photographer, amber gris caye wedding photographer }

Okay, finally getting around to blogging Greg and Megans fabulous Belizean wedding! If you just cant wait and dont want to read anything I have written HERE is the slideshow. There was so much about the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize that was interesting and cool and I hope to blog more non-wedding images from our trip. It was a bit of a trek to get to the island, we left OKC around 5:30am, flew to Houston, Houston to Belize City, then we had to take an hour long water taxi to the island of Ambergris, Caye. On the island there are no cars, just golf carts, which was SO different than anywhere we have ever been. Our kids did awesome on the long trip getting there. We took over 5000 images from our entire trip including lots of family pics and lots of pics of the island. SO… here are a few of our favorites from the most important thing, the WEDDING!
So first, the wedding was AMAZING. Every little detail was perfect, including the weather, which was a bit iffy the day before. The wedding ceremony took place at The Phoenix Resort and the reception was at the resorts restaurant called Red Ginger. This was the first wedding to take place at The Phoenix so everyone was tremendously helpful in letting us do whatever we want to get good pictures (like letting my husband climb on the roof during the ceremony…. )
We also cannot say enough about Megan and Gregs AWESOME families. We felt so loved by this group and cannot say enough how special they are to us. They were all so welcoming and treated us like one of the group! We were sad to leave them but had SO much fun spending the entire day with them and having a blast at the reception! We truly love you guys!

The rehearsal dinner was at a bar and grill on a pier and we took two small (and kind of scary) boats to get to them. It was COMPLETELY dark and RIDICULOUSLY windy. Megans dad actually asked Jace and I if we wanted to quit at that moment… It will definitely not be a forgotten experience!

The Palapa bar and grill. How cool is this?

These were all friends of Megan and Gregs from Texas A & M University who attended the wedding

The wedding day….

The flowers that were used for the wedding were flown in from Belize City

“hey Megan, your getting married today!!”

LOVE this one of Gregs mom walking away from him…

my view…

Jace’s view…..

after the ceremony all of the guest put on silly glasses so when Megan and Greg turned around they were surprised!

sweet families….

LOVE this photo- we love this group so much we might photoshop ourselves in on one of sides…. jk

the wedding reception was decorated so cute and island-y…..

I really wanted to do an entire post about the food we ate in Belize, but I decided that wouldnt be interesting to anyone else but us.

the speeches were one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. Megan and Gregs family and friends were all very close and it made their speeches super fun and sentimental.

Megan and her dad a such a sweet relationship. There wasnt a dry eye in the room after these speeches….( including our own)

I love how mom and dad are watching their daughters dance here!

Blaine - Part 2 of Blog Love:

I love these too!! Most of my initial comments involved the phrase, “What was I doing?!” But then I remembered it wasn’t about me (darn it). Megan looks phenomenal, you completely captured her beauty and the perfection of the day (please tell me our sassy shots turned out, I’d really like to see Meg’s sassy cha-cha). But these are great, I love the action/terror shots of the boat ride; the tears during the ceremony/reception…EVERYTHING! You are amazing lady!
