This wedding was so special to me for several reasons. We have known this family for most of our lives. I met them at 15 when Lacey’s dad was a coach at my husbands high school and my husband has known them for even longer. I think I braided her hair once or twice when she was a little girl at basketball games and when she grew up I watched her daddy catch her softball pitches at ALL hours of the day on the softball field in high school/college. Lacey has donated her time to help coach with my husband and we are incredibly grateful for her. The girls need a woman coach around to balance out all the male coaches! Her dad is a constant friend to my husband as their classrooms are next door to each other. Laceys mom was my daughters teacher this year. My daughter got to come early to “help” and I am so glad she got to see a teary first look and the words that Michael spoke to Lacey. It brought me to tears! Lacey walked with her mom thru cancer and intense chemo a few years ago and it occurred to me on many occasions throughout the wedding night that I was incredibly glad that her mom is healthy and able to be with her! The Paulk family are special people and we are honored to know them! This was my first time to shoot at the new wedding venue called the Springs Norman and it was beautiful! We work at the one in Edmond (and Tulsa) a lot and the Springs Norman is just down the road from where I live!
