so…

Sorry for the lull in blog posts it has been a rough couple of weeks of change around here…

The last month of summer is supposed to be the most fun, right? We have had fun, dont get me wrong, but the last few weeks have just been nuts!! First the good…. My husband got a new job coaching for Norman High School. He is SO excited about it. We adore our small community at Washington but it was time for a change and the Lord opened a door at just the right moment. Our kiddos will still be going to Washington but my husband will now be a Norman Tiger ;)

We moved our computers home from the studio mid-summer so I could work at home with my kiddos being out of school. I was working one night and went to bed early and woke up the next morning and my computer was blinking a white question mark. (enter FREAK OUT MOMENT HERE) Fast forward a week or two and I found out I lost my entire computer and internal hardrive.

LUCKILY I DID NOT LOSE ONE SINGLE CLIENT IMAGE.

Not so luckily, I lost a ton of my own personal images because I have not adopted the same backup procedures for my own personal images because it takes too long (isnt that sad?) I have ridiculous backup procedures in place for my weddings and client images but I lost all of my personal images from 2011. I have used Time Machine but switched hard drives a few months ago and never set it up properly for the newest drive. ANYWAY… all of that to say…

BACKUP YOUR EVERYTHING…. I lost my to- do list, address book, itunes music, old emails, personal images, receipts, pretty much everything that was living on my computer. Luckily we switched over to ShootQ (a cloud based virtual business manager) about a year ago so all of our clients information, contracts etc were all online and safe.

Last week we found out that a very dear friend of ours passed away which has just been heartbreaking for our entire family. If you could keep our friends family, our community, my family in your prayers we would VERY much appreciate it. A loss is never easy but for a 39 year old mother of 3 (one of her children being 11 weeks old) it has just been tragic.

As I have been going thru old hard drives and recovering images I keep finding images of my own that I fall in love with all over again every time I see… This was taken at spring training in 2006 when my husband was playing for the Kansas City Royals. Melt my heart, our kids were so little!

We are going to be going thru some changes as a business and are going to be HIRING. If you are interested even in the slightest way of working with our super fun HolliB team, we would love to hear from you. No experience is necessary and a variety of jobs are going to be needed filled. Shoot us an email at info@hollibphotography.com with some information about you and what your availability for working hours are! Even if you are a stay at home mom and only have a few hours a week to give- we can use it!

Hope your August has been better than mine :)
