Hand-Painted Wedding Invitations

Taylor Tuesday!!!

Last May I had the incredible opportunity to fly out to California to shoot Matt and Mandy’s wedding. Which was amazing! But I also have the opportunity to design their beautiful wedding invitations, save the dates and thank you cards.

Mandy contacted me early on with the idea of a vintage, California themed wedding. A few months later she sent me a painting that she wanted to see if I could digitally touch up and enhance for the front of their wedding invitations. To be honest, I wasn’t exactly sure how they were going to turn out, but after I started working on them and caught the vision, I was so excited with the way they turned out. It was a bit time consuming, but definitely worth it in the end.

Palmdale is situated just about 45 minutes east of Los Angeles in the mountainous desert of California. Now the couple resides in Santa Monica. So they wanted to combine the mountains and desert of Palmdale and the beachfront of Santa Monica. Mandy’s sister was the artist that painted the original painting, which is far more amazing to me than the digital work I had to do!

The RSVP cards were meant to look like a vintage California postcard. And the back had cute little questions for the guests to fill out about the couple and the wedding.

The direction cards featured a Joshua Tree. Which I was completely unfamiliar with, but when I arrived in Palmdale, I knew exactly what she was talking about. They were everywhere. And beautiful in their own Califonia-desert-type way!

It really was so fun to work with such a creative bride! If you can dream it, we can do it!
